| Ian specializes in online booking, automated expense reporting, data collection,
and travel agency operations.
To assist institutions with automated expense
reporting (both third -party and in house), Ian process maps the end-to-end
travel course (from authorization to reimbursement), develops
specifications, configures / customizes applications, liaisons with IT
staff, tests, and implements.
To assist with travel supplier RFPs and
negotiations, Ian has worked with a number of ATC clients to gather and
analyze historical travel data from a variety of sources (many institutions
have fragmented travel data and Ian helps build a complete picture).
Prior to joining ATC, Ian was the Travel
Manager for the University of Southern California (for 14 years). There he
was responsible for the university's owned and operated ARC-accredited
full-service travel agency and gained direct operational expertise in agency
automation, reporting, back-office accounting, and vendor relations. He
successfully conducted the first airline negotiations for the university,
and designed a series of programs that supported the mission of the
university's recruiting efforts.
In 1985, Ian co-founded University and Student
Travel Nationwide (USTN), an association of university-owned and operated
travel agencies and served on the board of directors for 13 years, including
holding the office of President. Ian was responsible for negotiating
supplier contracts on behalf of 20 member travel agencies and developed
USTN's programs on university travel consolidation.
Ian has over 25 years' management experience
in all facets of the travel industry, having started in 1976 with the
management of hotels in the U.K. and Portugal. |
